Panna

Terms of use

The short version: Panna is a free beta that runs in your browser. Keep your original files and independently check every result.

Effective and last updated: 20 July 2026

Free beta service

Panna is experimental software offered free of charge. Features may contain errors, change without notice, or stop working. The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without guarantees of accuracy, availability, compatibility, security, or fitness for a particular purpose. You use it at your own risk.

Keep your originals

Everything runs inside your browser, so results depend on your device, your browser, and the file itself. PDFs in the wild are messy, and no tool handles every one perfectly. Always keep a backup of your original file, and open and check the output before you rely on it or delete anything. Panna is built and tested for desktop and laptop browsers; it is not supported on phones and tablets.

Verify redaction and sanitization yourself

Tools like Redact and Sanitize are designed to remove content, but they are not a certified security or compliance service. Before sharing a redacted or cleaned document, reopen the output and check it carefully — including by searching for and attempting to copy removed text, and by reviewing metadata, annotations, attachments, and form fields where relevant. You are responsible for the files you create and share.

Not professional or high-risk advice

Panna does not provide legal, medical, financial, security, archival, accessibility, or regulatory advice or certification. Do not rely on it as your only safeguard for court filings, regulated records, identity documents, confidential information, or other high-risk material. Use an appropriate professional or approved tool when the consequences of an error would be serious.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Panna is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. This includes lost or corrupted files, unintended disclosure, lost work, or decisions made using an output. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Acceptable use

Only process files you own or are authorized to use and modify. Do not use Panna to break the law; infringe intellectual-property, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights; distribute malware; disrupt or overload the service; or bypass protections on documents you are not authorized to change. Tools such as Protect / Unlock and Unlock forms are intended only for documents you are permitted to access and modify.

Your files and Panna

You keep all rights you have in your files and outputs; Panna does not claim ownership of them. Panna, its branding, interface, and website content remain protected by their applicable intellectual-property rights. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their own licences.

Privacy and anonymous counters

Your documents are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to Panna. Panna does keep simple usage counters so it can understand visits and which tools are useful. These counters and the small amount of information stored on your device are described in How it works & privacy.

Availability and changes to the service

Panna may add, change, restrict, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. There is no promise that a particular tool, feature, or output format will remain available.

Changes

These terms may be updated as Panna develops. The date above will be changed when the terms are updated. By continuing to use Panna after an update, you agree to the revised terms. If you do not agree, stop using the service. Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory rights you have under applicable law.
